Principal Message 3/1

Principal Message 3/1

Happy March!
We had a busy week this week at Central, making the final push towards the end of the quarter (which ends next Thursday on the 7th). We took the ACT, we had an Amnesty Day/Make Up day, we had conferences and an Art/Science Showcase. Aslyn Porter won for best in Show for the Science Fair. Kade Engle and Saturn Minton won second for their experiments with Elephant Toothpaste. Ryan Eckrote rounded out the top three with his experiments on how sleep aids impact sleep. We had students create projects on the psychology of labeling things, motor oil and its properties, the impact of music on mood, the importance of shoe design on athletic performance and how fast cured meat spoils. It was so interesting and informative. Additionally, 17 of our students passed an important test for graduation and even had 3 students finish all their requirements for graduation. It was wonderful to support students and meet with their families.

I shared with you all that in January, we had several students who were published in the Library of Congress through a program reflecting on the “American Story”. Lakota did a feature article on it and Butler County picked it up! It is a proud principal moment when students have their work highlighted, showcased, and celebrated by others.

Next week we will wrap up the quarter and verification sheets will come home with students to confirm their class choices for next school year. The verification sheets need to be returned by Thursday 3/6. Please ask your student about them next week. Seniors will have an opportunity to help plan parts of graduation and we will not have virtual work on Friday because it is a day off of school for all Lakota students. SENIORS- We need a picture of you for the yearbook. Please send in a photo, professional OR candid to jodi.kessler@lakotaonline.com.

Thank you for all your support this week with getting students here on Friday. We are looking forward to more opportunities to support and encourage our students next week. Have a great weekend!
