Principal Message 2/2
Great news! The groundhog did NOT see his shadow, which means spring is around the corner and we had a fantastic week! We enjoyed having you visit us on Wednesday at conferences and Futures Night. We had a great turnout with lots of opportunities for students to take advantage of post-secondary options. Please reach out if you missed Futures Night and want the information regarding College Credit Plus options, HVAC group, Miami’s Work Plus Program, Micro Credentialing or the military. All of the options give students opportunities to learn and grow either now or down the road AND make it reasonable/achievable to do so.
Additionally, this week, students served as mentors to students at Creekside. This was incredible to watch as our students were able to show off their leadership skills and the Creekside students were able to learn and feel seen by the “cool high school kids''. We had presentations on pathology, virtual reality algebra, and debated the purpose of rules. I love hearing our students' insights and stories.
We are working on our course requests and will send verification sheets once we meet with students; again feel free to reach out with questions. Counselors will review the plans submitted and approve those. Verification sheets should come home for your approval by the end of the month.
Monday is the halfway point in our quarter. For in-person students, this is an important marker in the gradebook. If something looks off about the grade or students have not completed their assignments they need to make sure those get finished over the weekend. Virtual students, your assignments are important also, please let us know how to support you.
We will have another conference night that will feature a student showcase/science fair on February 28th. If you want a meeting sooner, please reach out, we would love to connect. Please have students complete their virtual work this weekend and spend some time relaxing.
Have a great weekend.
